Rick Wakeman at Lincoln Cathedral

Well I was certainly taken by surprise by a new release from Rick titled Rick Wakeman at Lincoln Cathedral. Despite thinking that it was a piano recording, it in fact turns out to be church organ for most of the tracks with just one recorded on a Steinway Grand Piano. Fans of Rick's previous organ tracks such as Jane Seymour will be delighted. It also marks a first for Rick in that it's a 2 CD set, with disc 2 being a binaural recording for headphone lovers and one track in DTS surround. Altogether a refreshing change I feel.

Wow, that's a great new. All the tracks in this album are composed by Rick Wakeman or only performed by him? I think Rick in Jane Seymour is at his best so, if this album contains new organ compositions is a must have!

Cool! Mr. Wakeman keeps the prog rock live! Though recently I read something about he's going to retire from the stages. I think that's must be a joke! Without him, the world of the rock is nothing! I think he must perform live until his death day

    Mr. Smith,

This is unrelated to the topic, and you may certainly get rid of it after you read it.

I contacted you several years ago when there was a BBS-type blog on rwcc.com. With some preliminary encouragement from Mr. Wakeman, I prepared an arrangement of "Judas Iscariot" for concert band.

Universal Music owns the copyright to "Judas Iscariot,", but they still need approval of the composer, or the composer's designated party, for approving the actual arrangement itself. Through Vicky in the office, I got a reply that Mr. Wakeman no longer had that approval right, but that he thought it would be fine.

Therese Stafford of Universal Music and I have for over a year been attempting to make contact with whomever now owns the right to grant approval for the now-completed concert band arrangement.

We attempted to contact Vicky in the office and go through the rwcc.com website to contact Mr. Wakeman, but to no avail. Would it be possible for you to email me directly with some suggestions as to who might have the right to approve an arrangment of that piece of music?

Thank you in advance for any consideration you may give to this request.

    Sincerely,
Rev. Br. Robert L. Anello, MSA
